Cost of Dental Implants

Dental implant treatment is a significant investment, but most patients feel the numerous benefits make the cost worthwhile. Dr. Bruce Watkins can explain in detail what the total cost of dental implants may be during a consultation at our Elkhart, IN, office. The total cost of dental implant placement varies for each patient, depending on a variety of factors, including the number of implants you require.

Factors that Affect Total Cost of Dental Implants

The total cost of your dental implant placement will differ from another patient’s for a variety of reasons.

Preliminary Treatments or Procedures

If Dr. Watkins has determined that you need a preliminary treatment or procedure to become eligible for dental implants, this will increase your total costs. Patients may require treatment for gum disease, tooth decay, or may need bone grafting to restore jawbone tissue.

Number of Implants Needed

The total cost of your treatment will depend, in part, on the number of implants you need. Patients typically need just one implant, or four to six. If you only need one implant for a single crown, your costs will be significantly lower than if you need six implants to support full dentures. Additionally, multiple implants require more advanced surgical guides to ensure exact placement is achieved, which can increase costs as well.

Costs of Temporary and Final Restorations

Patients missing front teeth may receive a temporary restoration after their implants are placed to improve appearance and functionality during the recovery period, which is an added cost. The type and material of your final restoration can also affect the total cost of dental implant placement. A single crown will cost much less than a dental bridge or partial or full denture. Typically, implant-supported restorations are permanent. However, in certain cases, they may be removable, which can affect the cost as well.

Insurance Coverage

Every insurance plan is different, but dental implants are generally either only partially covered or are not covered at all. You should speak to us and your insurance company to determine what components of dental implant treatment, if any, will be covered. This will give you a better idea of what your out-of-pocket expenses will be.

Many dentists may advertise or quote very low estimates for the cost of dental implants. This price estimate typically includes only the implant. It does not include other cost variables such as preliminary treatments or the cost of your final restoration.

Financing

We accept all major credit cards at our office, but it is important to keep in mind any interest or other fees you may be charged by your credit card company. Additionally, we offer CareCredit® financing, which typically offers low-interest or interest-free promotional periods. Again, you should be mindful of any fees or interest that may be associated with this payment option.

Don’t Be Fooled By Low Estimates from Other Dentists

Many dentists may advertise or quote very low estimates for the cost of dental implants. This price estimate typically includes only the implant. It does not include other cost variables such as preliminary treatments or the cost of your final restoration. Dr. Watkins aims to provide patients with accurate and comprehensive price estimates. The approximate cost of an individual dental implant (finished product) is $4,800 at Watkins Family Dentistry. This price includes consultation fees, restorations, and other costs.

Value of Dental Implants

It is important to work with a highly skilled and experienced dentist such as Dr. Watkins. He uses advanced technology such as the GALILEOS® CBCT scanner, which makes your treatment plan, and therefore the total cost of the procedure, more predictable. Dental implants are a permanent restoration solution that can last 20 years or more when cared for properly. They offer unparalleled support, stability, comfort, and functionality compared to other restorative options. Additionally, dental implants improve your oral health and prevent bone recession.
